NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT GEORGETOWN CHARTER TOWNSHIP HAS CANCELLED the Zoning Board of Appeals meeting scheduled for Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at 1515 Baldwin Street, Jenison, Michigan, due to the fact that there are no agenda items.

Proposed Application
For State Operating/and or Capital Assistance
All citizens are advised that Ottawa County has prepared an application for State of Michigan financial assistance for Georgetown Townships for fiscal year 2027 as required under Act 51 of the Public acts of 1951, as amended and for federal assistance as required under the Federal Transit Act, as amended.

State Specialized 5310 Vehicle Replacement $671,529.71
State Specialized Georgetown Township $70,302.00

The proposed applications are on file at Georgetown Senior Center at 7100 8th Avenue, Jenison MI 49428 and may be reviewed during a 30-day period. (Feb 1-March 2, 2026), between the hours of 8:30a.m.-3:30p.m.
Written comments regarding the application and/or written requests for a public hearing to review the application must be received by Feb 1, 2026. If a hearing is requested, notice of the scheduled date, time, and location will be provided at least 10 days in advance.

The contest is open to amateur quilters of any age.
Each participant may submit 1 quilt, 30 total quilts will be accepted.
Quilt submissions will be accepted January 26- February 20 and displayed throughout the entire month of March.
By entering the contest, you acknowledge that the library may hang your quilt on display.
Pick up an entry form at the library when you drop off your quilt.
VOTING
Voting will be done by library patrons throughout the month of March and winners will be announced April 2 by 5PM.
PRIZE
The winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to Field's Fabrics.

The Ottawa County Board of County Road Commissioners has recommended the installation of a left turn traffic signal at the intersection of 36th Ave and Baldwin St in an effort to reduce delay for left-turning motorists. The work is expected to be completed by Monday, June 3, 2024, weather permitting.
With an original estimate of $4.9 million, through competitive bidding and economies of scale, the amount was reduced to $3.7 million. After applying $1.6 million in ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funds, the final cost will be $2.1 million.
