2007 JUNE/JULY REPORT

DPW DEPARTMENT

 

 

  1. Construction has begun on the 12th Avenue sewer project.  The road is closed and some pipe is in the ground.

 

  1. Mid-August is the projected start time for the project on Baldwin Street from 20th Avenue to 28th Street.  A preconstruction meeting has already been held and water services and hydrants are in the process of being moved.

 

  1. The Baldwin Street project from Cottonwood to Rush Creek is well underway and very close to schedule per M-Dot.  Watermain replacement should be complete the week of July 30 – August 5.

 

  1. Bluebird, Ridgewood, Chipwood, Chickadee and Broadview sewers have been designed, approved and sent out for bids.  August 2 is the scheduled date to open the bids.

 

  1. The 1/2 million gallon elevated water tank on Bauer Road was cleaned and looking very nice again.  The cleaning was done robotically, with no one in a dangerous position on the outside of the tank.

 

  1. Pinewood Street sanitary manholes have been rebuilt and any further degradation has been stopped.
