GRANDVILLE: If the City Council approves its 2007-08 proposed budget, municipal water customers will see an increase in rates starting in July. City Treasurer Tom Guinther said the increase, from $1.71 to $1.84 per 1,000 gallons, is necessary to offset the 21 percent commodity increase Wyoming is passing on to Grandville and other customers of its water system. The budget also calls for implementation of a $50 fee to remove or install water meters.
