Dear Georgetown Township Board:

The following activities were successfully completed at the Georgetown Township Senior Center during the month of March, 2007:

Education and Health:

·        Blood Pressure Screen with Judy Boven, R.N. from Oak Crest Manors - 43 participants

·        Trim Class for weight management –92 participants

·        Exercise Class with Fitness Instructor Cathy Walker – 125 participants

·        Tax Preparation –18 participants

 

Nutritional Services:

·        Total meals provided for Georgetown Township Seniors – 459 at center, 220 home delivered

·        Commodities – 43 recipients

·        Transportation to Meijer for grocery shopping –48 participants

 

Trips:

·        Bach Lunch – 19 participants

·        Coopersville Farm Museum Jam –8 participants

·        Lunch Bunch to Safees–  29 participants

·        James And The Giant Peach – 13 participants

·        Grandville Rotary Travelogue – 10 participants

·        Mocha And Music - 8 participants

·        Hope College - 7 participants

·        Cinderella- 13 participants

·        GRCC Honors Choir– 8 participants

·        Rivertown Mall – 2 participants

·        Pirates of Penzance – 17 participants

 

Spiritual Services:

·        Bible Study: Finishing lessons on the book of Ruth, beginning lessons on Joshua, led by different local Pastors each week –253 participants


Special Events:

·        Monthly Potluck - 32 participants

·        Breakfast Bingo –31 participants

·        St. Patty’s Party – 65 participants

 

Social and Recreational:

·        Watercolor Class - 54 participants

·        Computer Class –16 participants

·        Quilting –4 participants

·        Cards - 26 participants

·        Pool Players –67 participants

·        Table Tennis Players – 8 participants

·        BUNCO Players – 24 participants

·        Therapeutic Recreation Group – 70 participants

·        Craft Class – 4 participants

·        Coffee Party – 15 participants

·        Love INC Seminar – 35 participants

·        Sunset Manor Seminar – 30 participants

·        Holland Home Lunch – 43 participants

·        GR Symphonette – 41 participants

Georgetown Township Transportation – Ottawa County Specialized Services:

·        Total rides provided in March – 1,504

 

Total units of service provided by the Georgetown Senior Center program:  3,504

                                                           

We are looking forward to the fun events planned in April, including our “Spotlight on Seniors” health expo at Kentwood Senior Center and many fun trips.  Thank you for your support.
