Dear Bill and Georgetown Township Board,

I have received a grant from the state of Michigan for $20,000 for computer equipment and transportation software. I would like to have permission to seek bids for this equipment and software so I can move forward and put this equipment to work.

The actual software will cost approximately $10,000 to $14,000 and it will be up to us if we want to pay a monthly or yearly maintenance fee which will be from $800-$1,200 a year. We would look at purchasing an extended warranty on the software because of the use of a grant which may extend our warranty 5 years or so, after this date it would be up to us if we wanted to keep paying the maintenance fee or use the software as is. The maintenance fees would cover any upgrades we would have to the existing software after the initial warranty of 3 months to a year depending on the company we go with.
