Dear Georgetown Township Board:

The following activities were successfully completed at the Georgetown Township Senior Center during the month of December, 2005:

 

Education and Health:

·        Blood Pressure Screen with Judy Boven, R.N. from Oak Crest Manors - 61 participants

·        Trim Class for weight management – 86 participants

·        Exercise Class with Fitness Instructor Cathy Walker – 62 participants

·        Christmas Craft with Instructor Cathy Walker – 3 participants

 

 

Nutritional Services:

·        Total meals provided for Georgetown Township Seniors - 403

·        Commodities – 50 recipients

·        Transportation to Meijer for grocery shopping – 32 participants

 

 

Trips:

·        Christmas Fantasia at Fellowship Reformed Church – 26 participants

·        Lunch Bunch to Great Lakes Shipping Co. – 14 participants

·        Mid-day Music at Park Church – 15 participants

·        Felt Mansion - 12 participants

·        Woodland Mall – 6 participants

·        Christmas Light Tour – 17 participants

 

 

Spiritual Services:

·        Bible Study: lessons taught on the Christmas story, by different local Pastors each week – 63

 participants

 

 

 

 

Special Events:

·        Monthly Potluck - 24 participants

·        Christmas Fun and Games – 38 participants

·        Christmas Party – 114 participants

 

 

Social and Recreational:

·        Watercolor Class - 13 participants

·        Quilting – 8 participants

·        Cards - 18 participants

·        Pool Players –  62 participants

·        Table Tennis Players – 2 participants

·        BUNCO Players – 20 participants

·        Therapeutic Recreation Group – 46 participants

·        Movies – 8 participants

 

 

I participated in the following meetings during the month of December:

·        Specialized Services Coordinating Committee

 

Georgetown Township Transportation – Ottawa County Specialized Services:

·        Total rides provided in December – Do not currently have that number.

 

 

Total units of service provided by the Georgetown Senior Center program: 1,058

                                                           

 

Our numbers are lower this month due to closures over the holiday season, Mondays and Fridays usually have larger numbers.  We are looking forward to the relaxing months that lie ahead.  Thank you for your support.
