Water/Sewer Committee Minutes

June 13, 2005

Present: Carlton, Mohr & Sterk (Members)

Review of Sewer main and Water main Charges.

The committee recommends to The Township Board to adjust the water main rate from $15/ft to $18.00/ft effective January 1, 2006. All deferred property owners should be given notice of the rate change.

Ice Arena

The committee reviewed the current status of the Ice arena.

Insurance Renewal

The committee reviewed insurance rate increases and recommends adjusting the copay from $15.00 to $20.00 (see attached). This change will reduce the percentage increase from 16% down to 8%.

Credit Cards Acceptance

The committee reviewed the proposal by Official Payments Corp. for the acceptance of credit cards for tax payments. The committee recommends approval of an agreement with Official payments to collect payments via credit cards, at no fee to the township. The taxpayer will pay an additional 3% handling fee for the service.

Cost Sharing request by Eastbrook Builders.

The committee reviewed issues for cost sharing of improvements for the East brook development.
