Library Department Report
May 2005
·
The Circulation Coordinator position was posted.
·
On May 31, Karen Jipping (Library Assistant I) was promoted to
Circulation Coordinator.
·
The resulting open Library Assistant I position was posted.
·
The company with which the Library has maintained a service agreement
on the copy machine and accompanying coin-op indicated they would not fulfill
their obligations associated with lingering problems with the coin-op. This
comes after months of no communication and promises to have a representative
contact us. Consequently, we will not be renewing a service contract with this
firm and have indicated our displeasure to this organization’s parent company.
When the initial response from this company was lacking five months ago, I
began to investigate resolution to the coin-op problem independently and now
will continue in this direction.
·
During the month, the broken tile at the Library’s entrance was removed
and replaced with cement, the parking lot was re-striped, and entrance/exit
signage repainted and re-positioned. Positive feedback from Library patrons was
immediate.
