Hidden Meadows until after the rezoning request for this land is acted upon by the Township Board and after the Planning Commission makes a recommendation.

#960422-11 - (REZ9603) Rezone Shurlow Development from AG to LDR
Moved by James Holtvluwer, seconded by Daniel Carlton, to change from (AG) Agricultural to (LDR) Low Density Residential parcels of land described as P.P. #70-14-18-200-013, and P.P.#70-14-18-200-015, located at 42nd Avenue, the NE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4, Section 18, except the East 255 feet of the N 1/2, NE 1/4, NW 1/4, NE 1/4, Section 18, T6N, R13W, Georgetown Township, Ottawa County, Michigan, for the following reasons:
1. The proposed zoning is a logical extension of the existing zoning to the south and west;
2. The zoning change would be consistent with the recommendation
of the Township Land Use Plan for this area;
3. The property is served by public water and sanitary sewer.
R. J. Poel left the meeting at 7:40 p.m. to man the phones for the school election.

Moved by Daniel Carlton, seconded by James Holtvluwer, to grant permission for a revision to the Planned Unit Development of Gleneagle East, to add a swimming pool, structure, and parking on parcels of land described as part of P.P.#70-14-26-327-017 through -104, located at the corner of Gleneagle Drive and Gleneagle Court, Georgetown Township, Ottawa County, Michigan.

#960422-13 - (SUP9607) Special Use Permits North Port Development-proposed drive-in establishment, permitted in Sect. 14.3(E) in a NS District
Moved by John Braun, seconded by Gerald Doornbos, to table the special use request until the Planning Commission makes a recommendation.

R. J. Poel returned to the meeting at 7:48 p.m.
#960422-14 - Amend Zoning Ordinance Sec. 5.4(G)
Moved by James Holtvluwer, seconded by Daniel Carlton, to amend Sec. 5.4(G) of the Georgetown Township Zoning Ordinance to read:
"(G) All new dwellings shall be surveyed and a copy of the survey shall be filed
with and approved by the building department before the foundation wall is inspected and any construction is commenced upon the foundation. If any portion of the flood plain boundary or any stream or body of water lies in the buildable area of the property, as defined in Sec. 2.13, or is within fifty (50) feet of the buildable area, the survey shall establish the lowest floor elevation one (1) foot above the 100 year flood elevation or established high water mark." As recommended by the Planning Commission to address recent problems related to home construction outside the official flood plain boundary but with lower levels actually below flood levels.

Moved by Daniel Carlton, seconded by John Braun, to approve the proclamation for the annual sale of Buddy Poppies by the VFW Post 6980, Jenison, to be held May 16, 17, & 18, 1996:
A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS: The annual sale of Buddy Poppies by the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States has been officially recognized and endorsed by governmental leaders since 1922, and
WHEREAS: VFW Buddy Poppies are assembled by disabled veterans, and the proceeds of this worthy fund-raising campaign are used exclusively for the benefit of disabled and needy veterans, and the widows and orphans of deceased veterans, and
WHEREAS: The basic purpose of the annual sale of Buddy Poppies by the Veterans of Foreign Wars is eloquently reflected in the desire to "Honor the Dead by Helping the Living;" therefore,
I, Henry Hilbrand, Supervisor of Georgetown Township, do hereby urge the citizens of this community to recognize the merits of this cause by contributing generously to its support through the purchase of Buddy Poppies on the day set aside for the distribution of these symbols of appreciation for the sacrifices of our honored dead.
I urge all patriotic citizens to wear a Buddy Poppy as mute evidence of our gratitude to the men and women of this country who have risked their lives in defense of the freedoms which we continue to enjoy as American citizens.

#960422-18 - Food Drive Day
Moved by Daniel Carlton, seconded by John Braun, to approve the proclamation
set forth by the Jenison Post Master, Mr. Joseph Michniacki for Food Drive Day on May 11, 1996.
PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, millions of Americans are in need of supplemental food assistance each month, and Georgetown Township is not untouched by these statistics; and
WHEREAS, the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF LETTER CARRIERS, in conjunction with the United States Postal Service and United Way of America, are teaming up in an effort to combat the hunger problem nationwide; and
WHEREAS, last years food drive collected and distributed 32 million pounds of non-perishable food to the hungry in our country, a record for a one-day food collection, and this years goal is to collect even more; and
WHEREAS, this year is the first year local branch 4417 of the NALC and the Jenison Post Office delivery carriers will participate in this national campaign;
NOW, THEREFORE, GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP
DOES HEREBY PROCLAIM
SATURDAY, MAY 11, 1996
FOOD DRIVE DAY
And encourages our citizens to support the efforts off our local carriers in their fight against hunger.

#960422-19 - Announcement of any scheduled meeting
On April 23, 1996, a meeting will be held at Sandy Hill Elementary School regarding the speed limit on Baldwin St.
The Road Committee will hold a meeting in Grand Haven on April 23, 1996.
#960422-20 - Reports from Standing Committees
R. J. Poel reported that he had attended meetings on April 11, 1996, regarding the process of school elections, on April 15, 1996, for Ottawa County Correction Facilities, and on April 17, 1996, to meet the people responsible for granting funds for parks.
Moved by James Holtvluwer, seconded by Daniel Carlton, that the Road Committee offers a motion to allow the Ottawa County Road Commission to bid 18th Ave. for a June 30, 1997 completion date.
