Board Members
Dr. Dale Mohr and wife, Marilyn, have been residents of Georgetown since 1962 where they raised three sons. Dale was born and raised in the greater Grand Rapids area. After serving in the U.S. Army, Dale graduated from University of Michigan. He practiced dentistry in Jenison for 36 years and has had many years of public service.

Carol and her husband have lived in Georgetown Township since 1975 where they raised four children who are now married. They have nine grandchildren. She attends Georgetown CRC where she has been a youth leader, Steven’s Minister and Pastoral Care Provider. She has also worked at the church’s daycare program since 2007.
Following graduation from Calvin Christian High School, Carol became a dental chair side assistant. After becoming interested in County and Township government in 1997, she started running campaigns. She ran for township trustee in 2008 and was elected the first woman on the Georgetown Township Board. Since then she has been appointed Treasurer and serves on the Services and WCET committees. Her community involvement includes working on “The Age of Discover” in Hager Park and being a member of the Crime Watch committee. In her free time she enjoys traveling, camping and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Carol Scholma Brett Strick has resided in the Hudsonville/Georgetown area all of his life, with 5 generations of his family established in this area. He graduated from Hudsonville High School and continued his education at Grand Valley State University earning a BBA in Finance in 1994. Brett is President of Strick Equipment Sales, Inc., a wholesale equipment sales company in Georgetown that serves the petroleum industry. The company is a member of the Grandville/Jenison Chamber of Commerce, and he is a member of the Kenowa AMBUCS. Brett also serves on the Executive Committee of the Ottawa County Republicans as Senior Outreach Coordinator. His two children attend Jenison Public Schools, and are very active in both school and community youth athletic activities. Brett enjoys reinforcing this healthy lifestyle, and enjoys activities such as playing golf, biking, hiking, and water sports. As a newly elected board member, he will focus his attention and energy on assisting the Georgetown business community, and the Grandville/ Jenison Chamber of Commerce, to initiate improvements to the existing highway commercial core district of Georgetown Township.
Brett Strick
Elected in 2008 to his first term, Chad has lived in Georgetown Charter Township for over 30 years, and is married with two kids. He has attended Fair Haven Ministries in Georgetown for his entire life. He graduated from Hudsonville High School and went on to Grand Valley State University where he received BBA and MBA degrees. Chad is employed with Sunset Retirement Communities and Services as the Chief Executive Officer and also serves as a Special Appointment Faculty of Business in the Professional and Graduate Studies division of Cornerstone University. Prior to Sunset, he worked as an executive with Target Corporation, a Fortune 50 company. In his free time, Chad enjoys spending time with his family, playing softball, hunting, and competing in triathlons. As an active member of the community Chad has served as the President of the Jenison Area Chamber of Commerce, is Vice Chair of the Ottawa County Workforce Development Board, and has served as a Youth Leader with Fair Haven Ministries. As a member of the Georgetown Charter Township Board, Chad serves on the Personnel/Finance and Services Committees of the Board.
Chad Tuttle
Dan and wife, Mary Ann, have been married since 1991 and have 2 boys. Dan has been a lifelong resident of Georgetown Township. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science and Business from Calvin College and has taken accounting and finance classes from Grand Valley State University. He has been the elected Township Treasurer from 1986 until March 2009 when he was appointed as the first-time Township Superintendent (manager) for Georgetown Township. As Treasurer, he was a member of the Utilities/Facilities and Finance Committees, in addition to the Construction Committees responsible for the construction of the Township Office, Library, Ice Arena and three fire stations. As manager, he is a non-voting member of all Township Committees in addition to representing the Township on various other councils and committees outside the Township.

Richard VanderKlok
Rich and his wife, Connie, have been residents of Georgetown Township since 1980. They have two married adult sons who graduated from Jenison High School and two grandchildren. In his second four-year term on the Township Board, having been reelected in 2008, Rich was appointed as Township Clerk after a resignation to serve the remainder of the term. He is a member of the Township Utilities Committee and the Township Board representative for the Planning Commission and the Disaster Assessment Team. He previously served on the Jenison Board of Education for 12 years; 6 as the board president. Rich is an ordained minister in the Reformed Church in America. He served as the lead pastor at Rosewood Reformed Church for 25 years. In 2004 he was trained as a Specialized Interim Minister through the Interim Ministry Network of Baltimore, Maryland. He presently serves in that role at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church in Holland. Rich has also been trained as a leadership coach. By using his skills, he has helped church leaders take responsibility for their lives and act to maximize their own potential. Rich also served as a mentor in the Kids Hope USA mentoring program.
Jim Wierenga
Jim Wierenga has resided in the Jenison/Grandville area all of his life. He and his wife, Sheila, have been married since 1988 and enjoy raising their six children in the Township. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and has worked as a commercial litigation attorney since 1994 starting with a large firm in Grand Rapids and eventually breaking off to start a smaller specialty practice with a partner. Jim sits on the Board of Michigan Family Forum and serves as an allied attorney for the Alliance Defense Fund on cases involving constitutional law and religious liberties. In his free time he enjoys coaching his kids’ teams, volunteering at his church and playing almost any kind of sport. He hopes to grow young right here in the Township.
